Finding the right fit

One pair, three sizes

Teen Stretch™ comes in two multi-size options that stretch to fit as students grow. Pick by age or hip measurement — a good fit is what keeps them leak-free.

Size guide

SizeAgeUKHip (cm)
Size 18–12 yrs4–875–90
Size 212–16 yrs8–1290–105

No tape measure? No problem.

Tie a belt or dressing-gown cord around the widest part of the hips, pinch or tape where it meets, then lay it flat against a 30cm ruler to read off the measurement. Always wash before the first wear to switch on full absorbency.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Split into two — the things schools and councils tend to ask, and the things students often want to know.

For schools & councils

Are WUKA period pants safe and suitable for use in schools?

Yes. They're made from breathable, body-safe fabrics, free from harmful chemicals, and designed specifically for younger, growing bodies. WUKA is a certified B Corp and the products have been independently recognised through several health and wellbeing awards.

How are they hygienic for day-to-day school use?

Each student has their own pairs — these aren't shared. A worn pair is stored in the waterproof, odour-protective changing bag until it can be washed at home. There's nothing to insert and nothing to dispose of on site, which keeps things simple for school facilities.

Do students need to do anything special to look after them?

No special equipment needed. Rinse in cold water, machine wash at 40°C and air dry — avoid tumble drying and fabric softener. Washed and cared for this way, each pair lasts up to two years.

How do these support equality and reduce period poverty?

One reusable pair replaces hundreds of disposable products, so a small number of pairs covers a student for a long time. That removes the recurring cost that drives period poverty, and means no student has to miss school, PE or swimming because of their period.

How do we choose the right sizes for a group of students?

Teen Stretch™ is multi-size by design — two options cover ages 8 to 16. Most students can be sized by age band or a quick hip measurement. The fabric stretches across three sizes, so exact precision isn't needed for a good, leak-free fit.

Are they inclusive and accessible?

Yes. The range fits a wide span of ages and body shapes, the boxer style suits students who prefer more coverage, and the book selection includes an autism-friendly guide with sensory-aware, easy-read content.

For students

How do period pants actually work?

They look and feel like normal underwear, but they've got special absorbent layers built into the gusset. They soak up your period and keep the surface feeling dry — no pad to stick in, nothing to insert, nothing to throw away.

Will anyone be able to tell I'm wearing them?

No. They're seamless and slim, so there's no VPL and nothing showing under your uniform or PE kit. They just look like your other underwear.

How long can I wear one pair?

Up to 12 hours on a lighter day — easily enough for a full school day. On a heavy day, change every 4–6 hours. Pop the worn pair in your changing bag and put on a fresh one.

What do I do when I need to change at school?

Take a clean pair in one pocket of your changing bag. When you swap, the worn pair goes in the other (waterproof) pocket until you get home. Quick, discreet, sorted.

Can I really swim on my period?

Yes. The swim shorts have a hidden absorbent layer that holds your flow, and the outer fabric is water-repellent so they don't swell up in the pool. So swimming lessons, galas and holidays are all fine.

How do I wash them?

Rinse in cold water first, then machine wash at 40°C and hang them up to dry. Don't tumble dry and skip the fabric softener — WUKA pants don't like it. That's honestly it.
